Electronic Shelf Labelling (ESL) is a burgeoning retail application worldwide, in which paper price labels on supermarket shelves are being replaced with small electronic units each with an LCD display.

These are used to display the price and other relevant details about the item on the shelf to which the unit is attached. These units are updated remotely via a wireless link. The main challenges for this application are:

  • Ensuring the price on the label is the price the customers will pay
  • Minimizing the update time of all labels (price updates up to 6 times a day)
  • Guaranteeing perfect signal communication to all labels, independent of shelf or store configuration
  • Low power consumption operation, low cost of ownership, ROI

Incorporating ScenSor technology into your systems ensures your customers will enjoy accuracy and reliability in their systems.
